I don't have much time right now, but I figured it has been a little while since I've been on here and figured I would update everyone on the latest in my life...
WE HAVE FINALLY SET A DATE!!!!!
On November 5th, 2011, I will become Mrs. Nate Morton! <3
I cannot wait for the year of planning I have ahead of me! I have started so much already but have so much left to do (naturally, as it is still over a year away!).
Our reception will be held at Harbourfront Grand Hall, downtown Grand Haven. We are still determining where we will hold the ceremony.
I cannot wait to share our special day with all our families and friends!!

Politicians Bullying Student Body President...What is this world coming to??
When I heard about this story, I was absolutely astonished. How can a politician stoop so low as to bully a student body president of a University. He should be ashamed of himself!! Does he not have better things to focus on?
In case you haven't heard about this story, let me inform you. Are you sitting down?
"Shirvell, an assistant attorney general for the state of Michigan, has been writing a blog accusing Armstrong of pushing a radical homosexual agenda. In addition, he has shown up at various Michigan Student Assembly events to protest Armstrong, including holding signs attacking him that have a rainbow with a swastika drawn on it. Armstrong is the university's first openly gay student body president."*
While I agree, that even in my own blog, you are entitled to speak your own personal opinion, but honestly, even if I had any positive ties towards Shirvell, they would immediately be lost. For someone of power to degrade a person for their sexual orientation is a clear misuse of their power.
I am not saying I am neither for or against homosexuality, but I am for respect and equality. If Armstrong chooses to be homosexual, then that is his decision and should be respected. He should be treated with decency and equality, just as if he were a heterosexual.
Days ago, a student from Rutgers University committed suicide due to homophobic actions towards him.
"A Rutgers University freshman killed himself after two classmates used a hidden dorm room camera to splash his sex life across the internet, sources told the Daily News. A distraught Tyler Clementi, 18, left his wallet on the George Washington Bridge before plunging to his death in the Hudson River last Wednesday, sources said. A Twitter post from one of the students accused of streaming the sexual encounter live on the internet indicated Clementi, a renowned high school violinist, was with another man." **
When will the bullying stop? When will people be treated with respect, regardless of their sexual orientation? When will we all just get along?
My thoughts are with those suffering from the actions of others who feel the need to degrade someone for their sexual orientation, specifically the families of those who have taken their own life due to the bullying.

Procrastination is my Middle Name
Hi. My name is Jayme and I'm a procrastinator.
I feel like the older I get, the worst it gets!! I have so many things that I should have gotten done today but instead, I'd rather not do a single one. I knowingly do it to myself, but then get mad when I am rushing to get everything done.
Maybe some day I will learn.
UPDATE: 10:47 pm - Still have not begun working on my paper that is due tomorrow at 10:20am. Story of my life...

Why Wait?
In the words of Rascal Flatts,
"The stars can’t line up any straighter
Let’s do it now and think about it later
Why wait another minute
For somethin’ we should’a done yesterday?
I know a little church
With a preacher who could hook us up right away
Love don’t need a reason
Baby I don’t see how I could love you anymore than I do today
So why wait?"
This is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I get so frustrated that we haven't set a date yet. I know that it's not Nate's fault, or even my fault for that matter. We just simply don't have the money to plan a wedding. I've priced so many venues and for the wedding we want, it is going to cost $7,000-$10,000. That is just ridiculous. We are both in school now and it is going to take us so long to save up this much money. I just want a wedding. I just want a marraige. I just want to be married to Nate, and live together, (or even just in the same city), and plan things together, and think about having kids. Sometimes I think about eloping...but that is not what I truly want and I know I would regret it down the road.
In case anyone is interested, here is the wedding website I started when I thought we would be getting married next year. www.mywedding.com/NateandJayme Obviously it doesn't have very much info since we don't have anything set. But in case you want to look.
Ugh. Why are weddings soo expensive!!

Joining the Crowd
I decided to follow the trend and create a blog!! I always tend to do stuff like this though, and then a week later forget about it, but this time I am really going to try to remember to update my blog.
This is just a place for me to vent and talk about random thoughts, basically. If no one one ever read it, that would be just fine with me, but I also welcome comments and thoughts.
I have a lot to say and need a place to say it, so here I am!
